Gold Digger: Mines Game Review

It’s been fun following the old golden-tooth prospector, Gus, on his 2 previous mining adventures, and Gold Digger Megaways made quite an impression. Gold Digger: Mines is iSoftBet’s debut effort in the far from overpopulated Mine Games genre, and it’s a super simple Pick & Click game that mimics the classic Minesweeper game most people are familiar with from their home computer, laptop and/or mobile phone.

You get to choose your preferred number of TNT Mines up front, and the more mines you go with the quicker the value of the gold nuggets increase. The aim is to reveal as many gold nuggets as you dare, while avoiding the round-ending TNT mines that blow up your winnings, and you can cash out at any time. Both RTP and volatility varies depending on your pre-round choices, and you can win up to 288x your stake from a single round.

Gold Digger: Mines Features

Before you start a round, you need to choose your bet size (from £/€1 to £/€300), and you also need to choose your preferred number of TNT mines. Choosing 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 10 or 15 TNT mines gives you 24, 23, 20, 15, 12, 8 or 5 picks, respectively, and you lose all racked up winnings if you don’t cash out before you hit a TNT mine.

Each gold nugget you reveal comes with a bet multiplier, and you can always see how much you stand to win on the next pick if you reveal another nugget. Below the ‘Next Win’ display, the ‘Found’ display gives you an overview of how many of the nuggets you’ve uncovered so far, and your total win is on display on the ‘Cash Out’ button up to the left (below Gus).

The ‘Remaining Picks’ you have left at your disposal is also on display, and below that you can see the maximum possible win for the round. The max win depends on the number of TNT mines you choose to go with, and it varies from 24x to 288x your stake.

In the next round we went with 5 TNT mines, and it was game over pretty quickly. You get to see plenty of rounds in our 8:26-minute highlights video, so simply hit the play button below to get started immediately.

Review Summary

We’ve followed the charming golden-tooth prospector, Gus, on both his regular slot and Megaways mining adventures, and we especially enjoyed the latter. Gold Digger: Mines is a far simpler release in the somewhat obscure and narrow Mine Games niche, inspired by the classic Minesweeper game. We much prefer regular slots to be honest, as this pick & click concept got old after a few rounds.

Going with 2 TNT Mines, which gives you 23 picks, is the best option if you want to maximize your potential returns, although 288x the stake is hardly enough to give anyone gold fever. An option to execute all picks randomly at once would have been appreciated, but we guess the idea is to feel “thrilled” as you make the picks one by one.
