Once in a while the already crafty developer, Push Gaming, will get extra creative, and attempt to redefine what an online slot can be. This was the case with their recent Space Stacks, and it’s definitely also the case with Generous Jack. We think the “win what you see” concept has a higher potential for mainstream success than the fill-the-reels-to-win system you get in the above-mentioned release.

Only the bottom row of 4 rows is active by default (although you can pay extra to get around that), and they come with 3, 4, 5, and 6 positions, respectively. This is important, since casino chip number symbols (0-9) can line up to create instant payouts up to 10,000x (row 5 and 6 only). Before you start, you need to decide how much of the game grid you would like to activate for the round. By default, only the 3 lowest positions are active, but you can choose to activate rows 2, 3, and 4 as well, via the Super Bet option that costs 5x, 20x, or 50x your regular stake, respectively. The RTP increases from 96.23 % to 96.45 % with the number of active rows.

You can land 3 different symbols in the base game, and these are casino chips with numbers between 0 and 9, a worthless black dud, and the Jack symbol.

You “win what you see”, as there are no regular win lines. Landing 8 and 1 adjacent awards 81x the stake, for example, while 9x the stake is awarded if the two symbols are not adjacent on the same row.

The Free Spins Meter seen on the left collects all Jack symbols, and this symbol also opens up one inactive row. If it contains Jack symbols these are also collected (without opening additional rows), and you then get a respin where cash chips are sticky. New Jack symbols that land are collected, and this awards another respin. The total win is summed up in the end, and everything resets on the next spin.

Jack symbols are placed in random positions on the Free Spins Meter, and you get 3 free spins when jack symbols occupy the first 3 slots in the meter.

Also filling the 4th, 5th, and 6th positions gives you 5, 7, or 10 free spins, respectively, and the bonus round plays out as soon as the respins feature has finished. Push Gaming is known for ‘pushing the envelope’ on a regular basis, and they have achieved exactly what they set out to do with Generous Jack. This game definitely stands out from anything else we’ve seen, which is as admirable as it is risky. It’s probably a good idea to familiarize yourself with the gameplay via the demo game first, before taking your chances with real money.

With only 3 rows active, the most you can win from a single spin is 999x your stake. However, massive payouts can land out of the blue when more rows are active.

You get the row-activating respins feature quite often, and the bonus round didn’t seem overly elusive either. We think Push Gaming might just be onto something with this innovation, and you will get your aha-moment the first time casino chips line up for an unexpectedly solid win.
