The predecessor, Buffalo Stack 'n' Sync, was a bit of an oddball release from Hacksaw, and this follow-up signals that they plan to build a whole series around the Stack’N’Sync concept. It’s not our favorite release from this developer by far, but it will probably appeal to animal lovers and those looking for somewhat convoluted features and volatile action.

Alpha Eagle Stack'N'Sync comes with a retro presentation with snowy mountains in the backdrop, and the 5x4 grid is semi-transparent. Clouds drift by as you cross your fingers for the S’N’S symbol to trigger stacked and synced respins, and the golden S’N’S even provides a multiplier up to x100. You get 2 unique bonus rounds also in this version, and the 10,000x potential is what you might be used to from this developer.

The premium symbols pay between 7.5 and 25 x your stake for 5 of a kind wins, and the ‘W’ Wild symbol steps in for pay symbols to help complete wins. The wild can land on all 5 reels, and it pays the same as the top-tier eagle symbol.

Whenever you land a Stack’N’Sync (S’N’S) symbol, the reel where the S’N’S symbol landed is cloned onto between 1 and 4 other reels. The affected reels will land stacks of matching symbols, and this can be a random pay symbol, wilds or the FS symbol. If you get another S’N’S symbol on the respin that follows, you get another respin with additional stacked and synced reels.

You can also land the Golden Stack’N’Sync symbol on more rare occasions, and this affects all 5 reels at the same time.

You then get premium symbols or wilds stacked on all 5 reels, and you also get a random multiplier from x2 to x100 on each respin. Keep in mind that the reels can be stacked anything from a quarter to full reels in both features, depending on how many of the 4 stars light up above the grid.

You need at least 3 FS symbols in view to trigger the Bonus Round, and you get the same amount of free spins as the number of triggering symbols. You get a higher chance of landing regular and golden Stack'N'Sync symbols during the feature.

You trigger the Eagle Link bonus when you land 3 eagle claw scatters on the same base game spin, and it plays out on two stages. You get only eagle, golden eagle or blanks in the first Collection phase of the bonus, and the spin counter resets to 3 each time you land a new sticky non-blank symbol.

Only eagle symbols that are connected or linked to the golden eagle horizontally or vertically are carried over into the Payout phase of the Eagle Link Bonus. You start with 3 spins also in this stage, and landing new sticky golden eagle symbols awards +1 extra spin.

Review Summary

The somewhat retro 80s nature presentation you get in this game is unusual for the Hacksaw we’ve become used to, but it’s a decent follow-up to their previous Buffalo Stack 'n' Sync. It looks like this whole concept is branching off to become a series, and in that regard it can be a good thing to stick out from their regular style.

A lot depends on whether or not you enjoy the whole stack and sync concept, which admittedly seems to vary a bit per installment. Essentially, it can lead to full screen wins in both games though, and you get a bonus round with more of the same. The Eagle Link is all about linking together as many eagles as possible to generate repeat wins, and as well as racking up a decent golden eagle multiplier to win up to 10,000x your stake.
