After being absorbed in the futuristic megahit that is Money Train 3 for a while, it can be easy to forget the somewhat humble Wild West roots of this whole franchise. Relax Gaming has not forgotten how it all started, however, as Money Train Origins Dream Drop pays homage to the first game. You will recognize the train robbers immediately, but the visual department has been given a solid overhaul. This modernized look is accompanied by an excellent soundtrack, but not too much has changed with regards to the features.

The base game is still as barebones as a tumbleweed rolling through the desert, but the fact that you can now trigger the Dream Drop Jackpot Game at any given time helps keep the tension up. The main attraction, outside of the progressive jackpots, is, of course, the Money Cart bonus round. It comes with 6 special symbols in this version, and it’s overall pretty similar to the original game. The 10,000x potential has been cut in half though, but the Mega Jackpot seeds at £500,000.

The premium character symbols pay between 8 and 20 x your stake for 5 of a kind wins, and the golden revolver Wild symbol steps in for pay symbols to help complete and/or improve wins.

The Money Cart Bonus Round triggers from 3 scatters in view, and the triggering symbols become sticky on an otherwise cleared grid. Review Summary

Instead of taking the lazy route of simply adding the Dream Drop Jackpot feature to one of their popular Money Train installments, Relax Gaming has taken the time to create brand new visuals for Money Train Origins Dream Drop. It’s basically a modernized version of the original game, albeit with some minor changes to the bonus round modifiers and more significant changes to the math model. The visuals are superbly done, and the Morricone-inspired soundtrack is a feast for the ears.

The intro is pretty spectacular as well, and it gives you a close-up introduction of the 4 main characters.

Chasing the DD jackpots isn't always a forgiving affair though, as you will be dealing with a 94 % RTP out of which 12 percentage points goes to feed the jackpots. The 10,000x potential half of what the original Money Train offers, and way below the follow-ups. Still, life-changing jackpots can be landed, and there is also a non-jackpot version of this somewhat nostalgic back to the roots installment.
