The legendary Norse mythology series started with Thunderstruck all the way back in 2004, and Thunderstruck Stormchaser is the 5th installment in the series thus far. It’s the second effort from StormCraft Studios, and it’s arguably the most epic and audiovisually pleasing production in the range to date.

Thor is hunting for Gungnir, which is his father’s sacred spear, and he will face many tough challenges on his way to the golden throne of Asgard. Help him tame his wild sister, Thyra, the goddess of wildstorms, and crack the 10,000x potential in the base game. Multiplier symbols accumulate in all stages via Rolling Reels, and it never resets in the bonus round.

The premium symbols pay between 1.5 and 4 x your stake for 5 of a kind wins, and the Thor Wild steps in for pay symbols to help complete wins. Wilds can land on all 5 reels, and they are also the highest paying symbol. Land 5 wilds on a payline to win 10x your stake. The Rolling Reels mechanic removes winning symbols, which allows for new and/or existing symbols to drop down.

You can trigger the Wildstorm feature at random times in the base game, and it gives you a free spin with fully stacked wild reels. Up to all 5 reels can become wild in this feature, which means that the 10,000x potential can be cracked at any given time when this feature triggers.

The Bonus Round triggers from 3, 4 or 5 scatters in view in the same rolling reels sequence, and you get an upfront scatter payouts of 1x, 5x or 25x your stake, respectively. A bonus wheel will then spin to determine the number of starting free spins, as well as the starting win multiplier:

• 3 scatters gives you 7 to 12 free spins with a starting multiplier between x1 and x6.
• 4 scatters gives you 10 to 15 free spins with a starting multiplier between x3 and x9.

When you land multiplier symbols at the same time as a win in the bonus round, the multiplier value is added to the total win multiplier. This multiplier is then applied to the total win at the end of a rolling reels sequence, and the total win multiplier never resets in the bonus round. Multipliers only accumulate on winning spins though, and not each time a multiplier symbol hits. Non-UK players can purchase the bonus round for 50x the stake via the Feature Buy button.

StormCraft Studios delivered a pretty solid Thunderstruck II follow-up with Thunderstruck Wild Lightning, and Thunderstruck Stormchaser comes with the most impressive and immersive audiovisuals in this series so far. The load time between game phases is a bit annoying though, but the spin pace and rolling reels pace is excellent even with the turbo switched off.

The Wildstorm feature can crack the 10,000x potential at any time in the base game, and accumulating Wildstorm spins via tokens is a fun way to potentially end the bonus round on a high note. The multiplier symbol accumulation system keeps the base game interesting as well, and even more so when nothing resets in the bonus round.

Overall, this is a highly entertaining installment in the legendary series, and well worth checking out.
