We know from before that Hacksaw Gaming has a thing for Rubik’s Cube, and the way the reels rotate in Aztec Twist certainly reminds us of that world famous puzzle. The twisting stone reels are set deep in the jungle of Central America, and you win by landing 5 to 21+ matching symbols in a cluster anywhere on the grid.

The 5 premium masks are all worth between 0.5x and 40x your stake, while the 5 lower value symbols pay between 0.10x and 15x. Hacksaw deserves respect for always thinking outside the box, and daring to be different from its competitors. Having recently released the Rubik’s Cube inspired Cubes 2, the biggest visual “twist” in Aztec Twist is how the reels rotate like said Rubik’s Cube. Once you’ve digested that novelty however, and hopefully without motion sickness, the game itself is rather simple.

Full reel wins with multiplier respins keeps you going in the base game, while you wait to trigger the bonus round. The usually low-value cluster wins take the backseat during free spins, as the Golden Mask feature takes center stage. These full row symbols block regular wins, yes, but a maxed out prize of 500x can award 4,000x your stake if you get the 8x multiplier.
