King Koko's Quest Review

If you were hoping for a slot based around Koko, the gorilla that famously (and allegedly) learned sign language by her instructor, Francine Patterson, you might be disappointed. King Koko's Quest is a pretty ordinary jungle slot from Pariplay, and combining gorillas and walking wilds is your best shot at larger payouts. The visual presentation is below par, and there is a low-budget vibe hanging over the whole project.

Wilds can be added randomly by a small monkey that appears out of the blue at times, and they can also appear organically on the bottom row. The wilds float up one step per spin, and when they cover King Koko all adjacent symbols turn wild for that spin. That’s pretty much what you have to look forward to, and your best chance at cracking the very mediocre 1,168x potential comes in the bonus round.

The closest King Koko comes to displaying any kind of sign language is when he beats his chest as the Wild Mania feature is triggered. It’s a decent animation, but overall this comes across as a low-budget release. The reels feel like they’re made of papier-mâché when they spin instead of real stones, and there is something cheap about the way the little wild-throwing monkey appears and disappears.

The Walking/Climbing Wilds feature is not all that bad actually, but a screen full of Gorillas and/or wilds award only 400x your stake. The overall 1,168x potential adds to the very mediocre vibe that hangs over this effort, and adjustable RTP ranges do little to improve our impression. King Koko's Quest has shelf-filler written all over it, and we don’t think the shelf-life is going to be very long either.
