The humorous approach is well done here, and while the backstory might not be all that believable, it still adds a lighthearted and fun context to your spins.

The simplest feature in this game is the flaming wild symbol. This will step in for all regular symbols, and it does not come with any value of its own. With that out of the way, we will move on to the more juicy features now, and there is plenty to cover here.

A base game feature you’ll see quite often is the Alien Respins feature. It triggers when you land respin symbols on reel 1 and 5 on the same spin, and you will then benefit from 2 out of 3 UFO reel modifiers. The grey alien’s eye color determines the modifiers you get, and these are as follows:

• Yellow eyes – multiplier value cows are abducted, and one of them is left behind to give you a multiplier value up to 15x on the following respin.
• Green eyes – a regular symbol is hit by a UFO beam.

  

  This makes it sticky for the respin and blows it up to a mega symbol of 2x2 or 3x3 in size.
• Pink eyes – a UFO scans the whole reel area with its beam, and this adds up to 5 sticky wilds randomly placed on the reels.

The Alien Invasion bonus round is triggered when you land at least 3 scatters on the same spin. You will not land any regular symbols in the free spins round. Instead, you will land only blanks and silver and/or golden flying saucers on the 5x5 grid.

You get 5 free spins to start with, but you can get extra spins as the feature plays out. Landing a silver UFO gives you 1 extra spin, and a 2x multiplier frame is added to the reel position. If you land a new silver UFO inside the frame, the multiplier value is doubled. By default you win 1x for each silver spaceship you land, but the multiplier frames can go as high as 4,096x your stake.

That’s quite a multiplier, and getting it will require that you land no more than 12 silver UFO’s in the multiplier frame. However, you also have the golden UFO to help you out in that regard. The golden UFO doesn’t pay anything, but instead it doubles the multiplier value of all the frames in sight.

The multiplier frames can also merge vertically if they touch on the reels. The feature only ends when you run out of spins, or you hit the maximum win cap of 10,000x your stake.

It’s impressive that ELK Studios has managed to pack so many UFO cliches into one game, and the backstory concept of ET pranksters is also hilarious. The math model of this game is no joke however, and wins up to 10,000x your stake is possible. We got the respins feature numerous times in our 200 spins test run, but many times it fizzles out into nothing.

Still, it’s a nice break from the base game grind, and once in a while it brings in a bigger win also.

The visual style is perhaps a bit unusual for this developer, and the massive potential makes Visitors among the highest paying games in ELK’s catalog. The base game antics makes it feel less volatile than it actually is, which can be both a good thing and a bad thing. However, the bonus round can really deliver on a good day. The concept of the doubling frame multipliers is somewhat innovative, and it certainly builds up to a nail-biting climax when you’re on a winning streak.
