The US ban on alcohol that ran from early 1920 to late 1933 spawned legendary gangsters like Al Capone, and has been portrayed in countless movies and TV-series. Chicago Gold revolves around the Cash Collect feature, so we’ll start by taking a closer look at how that works. You will land cash symbols on reels 1 to 4 all the time here, and these come with values between 1x and 25x your stake. When you land 1 of 3 different Collect symbols on reel 5 at the same time, you trigger the Cash Collect feature.

How the Cash Collect feature plays out is determined by which Collect symbol you land, and here are the possible scenarios:

• Regular Collect - comes with no extra features. You will see a glamorous lady in red blow a kiss to collect all the cash values present on reels 1 to 4.
• Respin Collect - the mean-looking hoodlum whacks the reels with his baseball bat, and this transforms the reel set. You trigger the Bonus Round by landing 3 free spins scatter symbols on reels 1, 3 and 5. This gives you 8 free spins. Before the feature starts however, you will see extra cash, jackpot and collect symbols added to the reel strips. This means that you’ll have a higher chance of triggering these features during the bonus round.

The Jackpot symbol is a gold coin with the mob boss depicted on it. Land a single instance of this coin on reels 1 to 4, combined with any of the 3 collect symbols, and you trigger the Big Boss Jackpot Game. You will then pick from 20 cash symbols to reveal 1 of 4 different jackpot symbols. You need to match 3 jackpot symbols to win the corresponding jackpot:

The multiplier cop can be even more rewarding though, not least if you get the 5x multiplier.

While you will not find anything new or innovative in Chicago Gold, it’s still a highly entertaining title with a balanced set of features. The math model is solid enough, with high volatility and a 5,000x potential from the Jackpot game.
