There are no regular symbols to land you regular payouts in the base game, and you need 3 bonus symbols of any kind on the middle row to trigger the Hold the Jackpot Bonus Game. You can land Cash Infinity symbols that remain sticky until the Hold the Jackpot Bonus triggers, and they come with cash values between 5 and 10 x your stake.

All triggering bonus symbols are carried over to the 9 positions grid that is otherwise cleared when the Hold the Jackpot feature triggers. You start with 3 respins, and the tally resets each time you land a new sticky bonus symbol.

The feature goes on until you either fill the grid with bonus symbols, or run out of respins.

You can land regular cash prize bonus symbols, and they come with values between 1 and 5 x your stake. The mini, minor and major jackpot symbols pay 10x, 20x and 50x your stake, respectively. A Collector symbol collects the value from cash and cash infinity symbols, and boosts the total by a random multiplier between x1 and x9.

The regular Mystery Symbol can turn into any other bonus symbol, except the cash infinity symbol. The Jackpot Mystery Symbol will reveal 1 of the 3 jackpot symbols, and both mystery symbol types are revealed one by one as the feature ends. You win the 1,000x Grand Jackpot if you fill the grid with bonus symbols of any kind.

This is the game’s win cap, and otherwise you get the sum total of your winnings.

Review Summary

9 Coins™: 1000 Edition is basically the same game as Wazdan’s original 9 Coins™, but it comes with a 1,000x win cap instead of 500x. The jackpot symbols are otherwise the same though, but we see no reason not to prefer this release over the first game. The pace is excellent with the turbo switched on, and you can choose between 3 settings for both pace and volatility.

This means that you can customize and tailor-suit the experience to fit exactly what you prefer, be that frequently triggered bonus rounds with lower payouts, or less frequent features with potentially higher payouts.

Having no base game wins at all might turn off some players, but the Hold the Jackpot round is admittedly quite entertaining. The 1,000x potential isn’t massive though, and it will be interesting to see how far Wazdan will take this series.
