As we head over to the stats, it becomes clear that Wild Ape is a kind of an odd bird. Like in every other slot from iSoftBet, you can hope for some solid maths here. Players drop in by setting bets from 0.2$ to 20$ per spin. The RTP is whisker above the average level at 96.01%, while the volatility is in the medium brackets. However, don't expect to be showered in wins since the maximum potential doesn't even exceed 1,000x of the bet, which is honestly frustrating.

The symbol collection includes 9 regular symbols, split into highs and lows. On the lower side, we get standard A-10 royals, while more valuable symbols include in ascending order toucans, lemurs, crocodiles, and angry-looking gorillas. Scoring wins requires landing at least 3 instances of the same symbol adjacently starting from the leftmost reel, while only 2 are needed for crocs and apes.

Individual values are moderate, with lows awarding from 2.5x to 10x of the bet for 5-of-a-kind combos, and premiums from 12.5x to 25x.

Wild Ape - Bonus Features

Wild Ape relies heavily on Wild symbols, which are the key to the success here. Alongside regular Wilds that are available both during the base and the bonus game, you'll get a bunch of those during Free Spins and Respins rounds, explained below.

Please note that the colossal symbol won't be in play though and will fade from the reels as soon as all the preparations are done, distributing all those 9 Wild symbols across the reels. During the Wild Ape Respins feature, all ape symbols become Wild and substitute for any other regular symbols.

Should 3 Scatter symbols appear on reels 1, 3, and 5, the Free Spins feature will be triggered. Before the Free Spins bonus game begins, players proceed to the bonus wheel to determine the number of spins to start, as well as the number of Wilds added to the reels for the duration of the feature. Wild Ape - Slot Verdict

Well, Wild Ape is obviously a different kind of experience from iSoftBet. With all those weird stats and unimpressive graphics, it's just not so wild after all. The two bonus features are fun though, but the problem is that they work identically for the most part. Why won't you leave that 3x3 Wild symbol in the Wild Ape Respins, or at least keep those reels merged for the remainder of the bonus game. Instead, we get some Wilds spread across the grid that either may or may not show up at the end of the day. As for the Free Spins, it doesn't feel like anything but an extended Wild Ape Respins feature.

With that being said, add a low maximum potential of 1,000x of the bet and you get probably the least impressive slot you've come across.
