We’re not quite sure the rather hellish-sounding title ‘Spirit of the Beast’ is all that fitting for the idyllic North American mountain lake setting you’re in for here. The golden totem wild steps in for all regular pay symbols, like wilds usually do. The wild also pays the same as the highest value bison symbol, awarding 20x your stake for 5 on a payline.

At the start of any spin, the Spirit Summoner feature may trigger.

A random premium symbol is then selected to land stacked on all reels, but you will also land low-value symbols. At best, this can lead to a full screen of nothing but the selected premium symbol, but you might also win nothing at all.

Many slots come with the illusion that a massive win can land just around the next corner, but Relax Gaming’s Spirit of the Beast is definitely not such a game. The base game Spirit Summoner feature sounds better on paper than it usually is in practice, and you will only pocket 300x your stake in the best case scenario anyway. This, naturally, is also the largest non-multiplier-prize win possible in the bonus round.

It all boils down to the bonus round in other words, where stacks of wilds can land you the 10,000x multiplier prize. The second-tier bison “jackpot” is only worth 1,000x however, and the remaining prizes are even less significant. Having a 5,000x bison prize, as an example, would have made this feature less of a ‘hit or miss’, and balanced things out a bit.

As it stands now however, your pulse will only raise if you get close to collecting 5 wild stacks.
