You win by landing 8 to 12+ matching symbols anywhere in view, and the premium symbols pay between 5 and 20 x your stake for 12+ matching symbols. While the previous scatter pay installment, Gates of Olympus, came with a random multiplier symbol system akin to Pragmatic Play’s Sweet Bonanza, Sword of Ares offers a more structured and orderly multiplier system. Which one you prefer will boil down to personal preference, but we found the symbol collection multiplier system to be quite entertaining.

It adds a sense of purpose and direction to the gameplay, as the more wins you rack up the higher the final boost will be. This can lead to solid payouts also in the base game, but the downside is that, unlike in Gates of Olympus, the multiplier resets also in the bonus round. The 10,000x potential is twice that in the predecessor release though, and overall we prefer Sword of Ares all things considered.
