You win by landing 3+ matching symbols anywhere on adjacent reels from left to right, and the premium symbols (or “majors”, if we are to use the in-game terminology) all pay 3x your stake for 5 of a kind wins. There are no wilds to be found in Golden Gods, and the scatter symbol is instrumental in triggering both of the game’s two bonus features.

You trigger the Respins feature when a premium/major symbols win land together with 1 or 2 scatters. You’ll then get indefinite respins as long as you keep winning, and the feature stops when you land a dead spin.

The Bonus Round triggers when you land 3+ scatters at the same time, and the triggering scatters become sticky cash symbols on an otherwise cleared grid.

Review Summary

While Golden Gods visual presentation is decent enough, there is something flimsy about the game feeling you get when you spin. It’s like the grid is made of papier-mâché instead of heavy stone blocks, and the special effects are not nearly as impressive as in the obvious source of inspiration. A Money Train 2 spin-off with an Aztec skin is still an okay idea though, and the execution isn’t all that bad either.

The streak Respins feature keeps you topped up in the base game, although larger wins are certainly also possible with 3,125 ways. You’ll have to rely on extra spins provided by gold or feature symbols, instead of the usual resetting of the spin tally in the bonus round, and there are only 4 modifier symbols compared to 9 in MT2. The 60,000x potential is somewhat higher though, which might compel certain players to jump off the money cart and head for the South-American jungle.
