We’ve been waiting for a while, and wondering when Fantasma Games would release their first slot inspired by the classic Lewis Carroll tale. Given their flair for fantastical themes, it was bound to happen sooner rather than later, and Alice in Adventureland is perhaps a tad more low key than we expected. They’ve created a charming enough steampunk-inspired fantasy world though, without going too deep down the rabbit hole, and the features are somewhat innovative as well.

Scatters are collected in the Heart Trail on the left-hand side during the feature, and the bonus round is enhanced when you hit certain milestones. It works as follows:

• Tier 1 (4 collected scatters) - gives you +4 free spins and an Ultrabomb Wild on reel 1 per spin, and the bomb feature is activated when a Rocketkat flies over it. The Ultrabomb comes with a random number, and an equal amount of random symbols are then upgraded similarly to what the Rocketkats do.

Using ‘Adventureland’ in the title - instead of the usual ‘Wonderland’ - signifies that Fantasma has intended to put their own spin on a commonly used theme.

They haven’t really gone overboard in a new direction perhaps, but the Rocketkats are both charming and helpful, not least in the bonus round. They can lead to decent top-up wins in the base game as well, and the pace of the game is excellent with the turbo switched on.

The Ultrabombs is another innovation capable of doing damage, and upgrading to the first 2 FS tiers didn’t seem all that hard during testing. This prolongs the feature significantly, and lucky sessions may end in the lucrative and climactic Adventure Spin. This is most likely needed to close in on the solid 10,000x potential, as 300x your stake is the most you can hope for from a single spin without wild multiplier action.
