The reels are set in a creepy carnival boot, and the soundtrack sets the mood perfectly for some spooky fairground action. First of all, you have the Fortune teller wild symbol that can land on reels 2, 3, 4 and 5, and the wild will step in to replace any regular symbol to help you form winning combos. You will see duck symbols moving from the uttermost right to the left, one step per spin. These symbols move behind the regular symbols, and they come with various cash prizes.

You will land crosshair symbols on the reels, and when you land a crosshair on top of a duck symbol, you win the corresponding cash prize. There is a multiplier ladder on the right hand side, and this comes into play if you shoot more than 1 duck on a single spin. Your total cash prize will then be subject to a multiplier boost as follows:

• 1 duck symbol - 1x multiplier
• 2 duck symbols - 2x multiplier
• 3 duck symbols - 5x multiplier
• 4 duck symbols - 20x multiplier
• 5 duck symbols - 50x multiplier
• 6 duck symbols - 200x multiplier

Above the reels you’ll see a red and blue meter, and this is where you accumulate free spins. There are 2 levels to the bonus round, hence the 2 different meters. One level gives you up to 5x multiplier crosshair symbols, while the other level offers up to 10x. The lower level meter fills up more quickly then the higher level meter, and the more base game spins you power through the more free spins you will get.

Each meter stops at 15 spins however, and the meter values are saved between sessions.

You trigger the bonus round by landing at least 3 of either the blue (level 1) orb, or 3 of the red (level 2) orb. The Cash Duck feature is very much in play during the bonus round also, and now the crosshair symbols land with multipliers attached.

The crosshair multiplier value depends on the reel it lands on, and also the bonus round tier. For level 1 you get a 5x multiplier crosshair on reels 1 and 2, 2x multiplier on reels 3 and 4 and 1x multipliers for reels 5 and 6. Level 2 free spins come with 10x crosshair multipliers on reels 1 and 2, 5x multipliers on reels 3 and 4 and 1x multipliers on reels 5 and 6. The multiplier ladder can provide an additional boost if you shoot more than 1 duck on the same spin.

Ducks Till Dawn is not only a clever title, it’s also a surprisingly entertaining and well-made game. Kalamba has really hit a home run this time, and the fairground theme is flawlessly executed. The duck shooting feature fits perfectly into everything, and the 15,595x potential is more than good enough for a medium to high volatility game.

There is really not much to complain about here. The RTP is well above average, and even more so if you buy the bonus round. The math model is solid in all conceivable ways, and it’s certainly satisfying whenever you land more than one duck at the time.

We only wish the multiplier wouldn’t reset in the bonus round, but the multiplier crosshairs is an original choice to up the ante.
