Clever titles are a dime a dozen in this industry, and sometimes the title is pretty much the only thing a game has going for it. Sherlock Bones is balancing on a razor’s edge in this regard, as it comes with only one real bonus feature. The dog detective being “thrown a bone” via the horizontal bonus reel is a nice enough idea, but it can take a while to trigger the Rolling Reels feature.

The base game doesn’t really contain much engagement, even though you can win decent payouts (at least theoretically). The Sherlock Bones wild symbol can land on reels 2 to 5, and it will step in for all regular pay symbols. It will also trigger a bonus reel spin whenever it lands. Below the regular reels, you’ll see the horizontal bonus reel. If a bone symbol lands directly underneath the wild that activated the bonus reel, you trigger the Rolling Respins feature.

The triggering wild will then expand downwards as it moves 1 step to the left, and you get a respin. You are guaranteed at least 1 win via this feature, and the triggering wild moves one step to the left as 1 extra row is added for each respin. You can add up to 4 extra rows this way, and this will also increase the number of win ways from 243 up to 16,807.

You can get new walking wilds during the Rolling Reels feature, if you land a bone underneath the new wild on the bonus reel. The feature will go on as long as you have walking wilds left on the reels, and regular wilds will also be expanded when they land without a bone underneath on the bonus reel.
