The ancient Egypt theme is hardly original, but the Microgaming partner has managed to add a somewhat unique touch to the visual presentation.

The ‘Epic Strike’ scatter win prizes are stacked up on the left-hand side, giving you a constant reminder of what you could land on any given spin. With a lower volatility than the obvious source of inspiration, casual punters might find this installment more forgiving. This is the best reason we see for preferring this copycat to the original, but there are plenty of higher potential alternatives out there also.

Microgaming partner, Old Skool Studios, has hardly re-invented the “reel” with Ascension Rise to Riches, and we see plenty of similar games every month. The trademarked Epic Strike feature keeps the tension at a decent level, but the 2,000x top scatter win prize is nothing out of the ordinary. Visually, the ancient Egypt theme is nicely done, but it doesn’t stick out too much either.

Less you land a screen full of wilds, which is highly unlikely, the largest regular base game payout is 750x your stake.

The bonus round multiplier doubles or triples that amount, up to the 2,000x win cap, and it’s a decent overall potential when you factor in the low volatility. For casual punters, this is an okay alternative in the ‘scatter win’ genre, although it’s pretty much a reskin of Blazing Mammoth (which again is a 9 Masks of Fire copycat).
