Inspired Gaming have been on the scene for quite a while now, but their most recent releases haven’t been particularly...well..inspired. Gold Cherry does come with some innovations, however, so we feel obliged to check it out in a full online slot review. To kick things off, the playing board of Gold Cherry is quite interesting. It features just 5 reels, 3 rows and 10 paylines, but winning combinations don’t have to start on the very first reel.

There’s nothing fresh about the slot’s visuals, on the other hand, as Gold Cherry comes with decidedly average graphics. The theme is very basic, and the designs of the individual symbols are pretty bland as well, so it’s impossible to be impressed by how Gold Cherry looks.

As you’ve probably noticed, we haven’t mentioned any Wilds just yet.

That’s because there are no Wilds that can land on the reels on their own. Instead, you can acquire Wilds via the wheel of fortune that’s located above the playing field. It spins with each spin, and it can land on either a blank segment or on a Wild segment. Get it to land on a Wild segment, and it will turn all cherry symbols into Wild Cherry symbols that can substitute for other symbols in combos. If you find 5 of them on a payline, you’ll even get a sweet 100x payout!

Land 3 Bonus symbols to trigger the Free Spins feature with 10 symbols. During free spins, the wheel of fortune has different and more generous segments, which leads to more Wilds and even 2x win multipliers!

Players can also enable the Gamble feature, which will then start automatically after wins that are at least 5x your bet. The actual feature is quite complex, and you can try to both boost your wins or trigger the Free Spins feature. Going all the way successfully can lead to wins as high as 2,500x your bet and 20 free spins, but the risk involved is naturally serious.

At the end of the day, Gold Cherry comes with both pluses and minuses.

On the plus side, we like its Wild transformations and free spins, while the Gamble feature also deserves a mention. On the minus side, the math model is hardly great, and the production values are below average. If you’re into old-school slot machines, you might want to check it out.
