We have to admit that we thought the collaboration between Relax Gaming and the CasinoGrounds gambling/streaming community was a one-off when Iron Bank was first released, but the relationship has proven itself to be a fruitful one. They’ve churned out one strong release after another, and with Book of Power they have finally taken on the “holy grail” of online slots. Competing in this genre is tough, but Book of Power is certainly up to the task.

It’s a mix of tradition and innovation, like so many ‘Book slot’ installments, and it comes with solid ancient Egypt visuals, animations, and an excellent spin pace to boot. The regular bonus round can give you additional special expanding symbols, or upgrade their multiplier up to x9. You can upgrade the top-tier Explorer with a multiplier in the Power Spins round, but you need to climb the paytable ladder via retriggers first, unless you get him from the get-go. The 15,000x potential is well above average for this genre, and this is a highly entertaining and solid release.

You win 10, 15, or 20 free spins when you land 3, 4, or 5 Book scatters anywhere in view, and this also awards an upfront payout of 10x, 100x, or 500x your stake, respectively. The book opens up to select the special expanding symbol before the feature starts, and this symbol expands to create full line wins after the initial win if you land enough instances anywhere in view.

The special symbol does not need to land on adjacent reels to expand and pay in other words. You get an additional expanding symbol if you land 2 Book scatters in view on the same free spin, and this also gives you +5 extra spins.

If the new special symbol is already active, it gets +1 added to its multiplier instead. You can get up to an x9 multiplier, since only 8 retriggers are possible per feature.

You trigger the Power Bonus Round if one of the triggering Book symbols is the Power Book, and this also gives you 10, 15, or 20 Power Free Spins with an upfront scatter win of 10x, 100x, or 500x your stake, respectively. A random pay symbol is once again selected to become the special expanding symbol, and it works like we have already described above.

The big difference is that the current expanding symbol gets upgraded when you land 2 Book scatters on the same free spin, and this also awards +5 extra spins. If you manage to upgrade the special expanding symbol to the top-tier Explorer dude, additional retriggers will add +1 to the multiplier for the expanding version of the symbol up to x9. Landing the Power Book on reels 2, 3, and/or 4 upgrades the reel to become golden. Golden reels count as the expanding symbol even if the special symbol does not appear on it.

The Hot Mode feature can trigger in both tiers of the bonus round, and it will trigger at the start of random free spins. This increases your likelihood of landing a larger payout on the spin that follows. Non-UK players, and anyone eligible, can purchase the bonus round for 100x the stake.

The Power Spins feature will set you back 200x your stake, and the bonus buy RTP increases to 96.5 %.

Book of Power does not disappoint either, and it comes with an excellent spin pace with the turbo switched on. They have not strayed too far from the standard ‘Book slot’ blueprint, at least not at first glance, but the changes they have made can have a powerful impact when things go your way.

You get the traditional ancient Egypt theme, albeit with unusually well-crafted visuals and animations, and the regular bonus round is made unique by the possibility of multiplier upgrades or extra special symbols. The Power FS round sticks out even more, as you’ll upgrade the special symbol until you reach the top of the paytable, and after that its expanding multiplier gets upgraded up to x9.

It all adds up to a solid installment, and the 15,000x potential is 3 times what you get in most other ‘book slots’.
